Five Months

9.12.2015

I'm a few weeks overdue on this one.. I did actually take the photos (kind of) on time, though... so that counts for something, right?  Ha!  I can hardly believe how much he has grown these past months.  He weighs 18 lbs.. the same weight that Clara was at her one year check up!  So it's safe to say that he's my chunky baby.. and I'm loving it.

He's rolling over.. I can't leave him alone for 2 seconds or he will be on the other side of the room getting into something he's not suppose to.. and he's SO close to crawling.  He will get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth.. he's just gotta figure out how to move those knees forward.   Soon, little buddy.. it will be very soon.. and then you'll truly be everywhere and into everything.

I adore that gummy smile of his and I'm soaking that up as long as I can.  He's definitely a Mama's Boy.. and it melts my heart.  He's going 5+ months strong of exclusive breastfeeding now and I couldn't be happier about it.  Goal is 1 year, so it's looking pretty good that we'll make it that far.  :)

Is it possible that my baby is already almost half a year old?  Oh Sam, we all love you so much.

Four

6.29.2015

I am the Mama to a sweet FOUR year old girl.

Our first baby.  Our sweet, sweet girl.. she turned four this month.  Every birthday is so bittersweet.  I love watching her grow.. watching her learn new things.. hit all the little milestones.  Though she will never be a baby again, she will always be my baby girl.

She's learning to write her name.. and actually does pretty well with it for the most part.  She loves to dance and to sing.  She loves to use her imagination and pretend play.  She's a BIG helper with her baby brother, and she is still loving him to pieces.. literally smothering him with love daily.  ;)

Her birthday was low-key this year, but she had so much fun.  We bought her a Power Wheels for her gift.  It's so much fun to watch her drive her stuffed animals and baby dolls around the yard.  "Okay, we have to get out and go into the grocery store now."  she'll say.

Every day she's learning something new.  And every day I strive to be the best role model I can be for her.  Love you, my sweet girl.  I hope year five doesn't sneak up on us too fast.

One Month

5.05.2015

Okay, so this is a little late.  But such is life with two kids.

So Sam is one month old!  Well, now he's almost 8 weeks.. but, I have two kids and a husband. I barely have time to eat, let alone sit down at the computer for more than 5 minutes at a time.  He's growing so much and so fast.  I forgot how fast they grow when they're so little.

He's a good baby.. he eats like a little piggy.. doesn't cry too much.  And when he does cry, he's fairly easy to calm back down.  Note: If you can't get your baby to stop crying, trying holding them while vacuuming.  Sam loves that and almost immediately falls asleep.  Apparently I was the same way when I was a baby.  ;)

He's a Mama's boy, of course.. he just started smiling at me.  Normally when I'm making really weird faces at him.  But I would make myself look like a goon all day long just to see that smile.  Sleeping... he's getting better at it.  He naps well most days.  At night, he will start off with about a 4 hour stretch around 8 or 9 and then after that it's usually every 2-3 hours.  He does really well sleeping in his bassinet (Clara absolutely hated her bassinet for the first few months).

Next week I go back to work.  I'm ready, but not ready.. I'm going to miss being at home with my littles all day.  But at least I get to see them at work - that helps.  ;)

Send Some Love {kid craft}

Kids Valentine Craft - Hand Chain | hwescott.blogspot.com

Clara's at the fun age where she likes to color everything, cut everything, put stickers on everything.. so that makes craft time a lot of fun.  ;)  We made this hand chain (kind of like a paper doll chain, you know?), to have fun with and send out to Nana & Papa.  After she was done decorating it, I wrote on each hand "i love you this much".. and the little scribbles you see on each hands, that's her "writing" her little message out.. I was just translating it haha.

I love that she loves doing these kinds of things... seeing all her creations makes my heart so happy.  You see that little sun she drew in the above photo?  Yeah, that's the cutest little sun I ever did see!  ;) Her attention span is a little short to do anything too involved craft-wise.. so we stick with simple for now.

Has anyone else done a Valentine Day craft with their little ones?  Leave a link to it in the comments, I would love to see what you've created!
